Presented in partnership with the African American Genealogy Group (AAGG) https://aagg.org/ , this series is designed to empower participants to trace, preserve, and share their family histories. The AAGG was originally founded at AAMP in 1989 to support the local community’s overwhelming demand for genealogical research.
Each interactive session is themed to guide researchers through different stages of their journey: from foundational record-seeking and navigating “hidden” archives to connecting family stories to the wider African Diaspora. The final session focuses on legacy-building, teaching youth engagement and digital preservation techniques to ensure these stories endure for future generations. This series bridges the gap between historical scholarship and personal heritage, providing a supportive community for both novice and advanced researchers. Registration is required.
