Justice 101: Reentry Simulation

4/26/25 11:30am - 2pm

Included with admission. In person at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site. Advance registration required. Link to purchase timed event tickets coming soon. Step into the shoes of a person being released from incarceration. Join us at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site (ESPHS) from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on April 26 to take part in a reentry simulation. Through this hands-on experience, participants will learn about and reflect on some of the many structural challenges people face when returning home from prison. Participants will be assigned a fictitious back story and persona. Through the lens of a recently incarcerated person, participants will encounter simulated scenarios that mirror real-life tasks like finding a job, attending treatment, and paying bills. At the end of the activity, participants will debrief their experiences and discuss the criminal justice system and complexities of reentry. Led by Ryan Hall (Education Manager, Eastern State) and M.Q. Jones (President and CEO, QISM Consulting and Staffing), this reentry simulation is an eye-opening opportunity to understand systemic barriers, legal rights, and the urgent need for reform. The reentry simulation is included with admission to the historic site on April 26; however, space is limited, and advance registration is required. In order to reserve your spot, please purchase a ticket online in advance. Link to purchase timed event tickets coming soon.
